Two more points you can take

+1

Cover a real defence

Write the defence you feared in brackets, with your answer: 50.♖xf2 ♖e8. White's second-best try, met — the grader checks both moves and pays the point. Leave a defence out and a soft prediction costs you instead.

Claim the assessment

Add −+ after your last move and the card grows to 9. Right, and it is yours; one band out () pays nothing; wrong (=) pays nothing. It is a bet, not decoration.

The rest of the rules, in one line each

Signing inThere is no password. You give an address, we mail a link, and the link signs you in — every time, including the first. A session lasts 30 days per browser.
The commitCommitting fixes the analysis. Nothing you learn afterwards — the quiz included — changes a committed score.
Their replyA predicted defence within 1.50 of the best one is fair; beyond that it is soft — the line only beat cooperation.
Your deviationWithin 1.00 of best it is accepted — and credited, if it met a moment that mattered. Beyond that but the same result — inexact, noted, never refuting. A changed result — win to draw, draw to loss — is the only error.
Another good moveReach the line's position by another move order, or answer a defence you predicted differently with the same move you had prepared, and you are on the line. Being on it is a fact about the board, not about the characters you typed.
The fair stopYou are never asked to calculate past the point where what remains is routine. Depth past it is never demanded and always paid — and if the extra line goes wrong out there, it is shown to you, not charged. Writing more than you were asked can never score below stopping.
Your ratingElo, moved by whether you found the key move. The expected score printed on every card comes from your rating, so a 0.4 on a brutal position can beat a 6 on an easy one.
The bankMined weekly from the newest tournament games, most only weeks old. Rate a position one to five stars after solving: the best-rated positions you have not seen are dealt first, and anything you rate two stars or less leaves your pool for good.

Provenance: this position is 3bf3810363e7c0a0 in the bank — Stockfish 16, ten million nodes at MultiPV‑8, key move clear by 6.71 before it was ever served. The verdicts, centipawn figures and points on this page are what the grader returned for these exact submissions at its own probe budget of 600 000 nodes per move; findability percentages are Maia‑2, weighted across the 1500/1900/2000 audience the difficulty model is fitted on. Nothing here is hand-written commentary.
